Now that you have settled on a location and a house plan, your home will enter a constuction process which Wolverton Development has used for years. Is is important that you understand the basic process so that you can feel at ease as your new home comes together.

The basic construction process typically takes 90 to 120 days (more for large homes) once ground has been broken for foundation work.

The key steps are:

• Concrete will be poured
• Floors installed, walls framed,
• Roof trussed, sheeted, and shingled. Windows installed
• Rough plumbing, electrical and HVAC ducting installed
• Cabinets, vinyl, finished pluming, lighting, and mirrors are installed
• Carpet is installed
• HVAC is completed
• Drywall and painting touchup occurs
• A walk-through of the home is scheduled with a Wolverton Home Representative
• Final inspection by the City/County is completed.

During the process, Wolverton Homes field representatives will be watching the schedule and quality of the work on your home. Additionally, inspectors from the city or county will do interim inspections for code compliance on your foundation, rough plumbing, rough electrical, fireplace (if equipped), frame and insulation. At key points during the final stages of construction, the same inspectors will sign off on final inspections for Plumbing, Gas, and Electrical work relative to code compliance.

While you are encouraged to visit your home site from time to time, it is requested that you refrain from visiting during normal business hours. This is to make sure you do not enter an area in which you may be at physical risk dur to the nature of construction, to avoid slowing down our subcontractors, and to avoid confusing subcontrators with unintended and unauthorized change orders. Any communications should occur through our office or field staff unless otherwise agreed to.
